@@Novitiate of the School Sisters of Notre Dame
@The SSND Novitiate was transferred from Karasaki to the Matsugasaki Convent in Kyoto City.
@Responding to God's free love, a woman who has accepted the call to walk the way of religious life through religious vows finishes her preparations in the postulancy and enters into the community life of the Novitiate. To confirm her call from God more firmly, she undergoes a process of discernment in the Novitiate.
@@@@A ceremony of "reception" for Ms. Noriko Oshiro was held at the Novitiate of Matsugasaki convent on March 14, 2014.
@S. Marjorie Klein and S. Helen Jane Jaeb, Councilors of the Central Pacific Province, presided as representatives of the Provincial Leader.
@On Ceremony began at 7:00 p.m. at the Novitiate (Matsugasaki Convent). Sisters gathered from each of the convents within the city and from Karasaki to celebrate this day of blessings.
@The participants deepened their prayer through readings from the Bible, chanting of the Psalms, and readings from YAS, the Constitution of the School Sisters of Notre Dame. It was also an enriching time for each member to appreciate once again the blessings of her own vocation.
@Postulant Noriko Oshiro received from S. Marjorie Klein, Vicar of the Provincial Leader, the "words of acceptance" as a novice of the Central Pacific Province of the School Sisters of Notre Dame. She also received the religious name of Mary Lucia.
@@All the sisters then offered their blessings to Novice Lucia who was deeply touched as she expressed her gratitude to all.
@She will now learn to walk the path to becoming a Religious with the guidance and support of S. Patricia Kuno, Novice Director, the Novitiate community and the Holy Spirit as she continues in the process of discerning her call.
@May God's abundant blessings shower on her! Great joy and gratitude filled the hearts of all the participants.
